HurleyMedia specializes in media relations and events for books and cultural organizations. In addition, we also offer advertising, direct mail, targeted online promotions and launches as part of full-scale marketing campaigns.
Media Relations
HurleyMedia develops campaigns to national radio, television, print, and online media, or targets specific markets and media for the client. We can also implement a plan already in place and work with publishers’ publicity departments to achieve maximum exposure for our clients.
Events, Tours & Speaking Engagements
For clients who have a project that can command national attention-or has a very specialized audience-we plan a tour that includes personal appearances in carefully-selected venues such as bookstores and museums, at national and regional fairs and expos, and in front of targeted national and local organizations. We handle all publicity for the events we book, and work with the sponsoring organizations to reach their membership.

We do all of the above for books, as well as the following:
Book Packaging
Working closely with the artist or photographer, as well as with a team that includes editorial staff and book designers, we conceptualize and package illustrated and photography projects, and arrange for marketing and distribution of the finished books or catalogs.
Representation of Literary Properties
HurleyMedia works closely with the author to insure successful presentation and placement of the manuscript with the right publisher, overseeing every step of the publication process, from contract negotiations to royalty payments.
CONSULTING SERVICES
HurleyMedia Provides consulting services to demystify the publishing process. We advise individuals, start-ups and small presses on every step from editorial vision through marketing, sales and distribution. For publishers this can include intensive discussion of the potential of their projects: what are the maketing possibilities, who is the audience and how best to reach them, as well as consultation on design and trim size-we can even help you find the printer. We also decode the language of distributors' contracts-and negotiate them for you- so publishers have a clear understanding of what services are provided and at what cost, and how they can best work with their distributor to maximize their efforts. For individual authors, artists, and photographers, we evaluate their proposals and/or complete manuscripts, helping them to refine the concept, determine their publishing goals, understand the sales potential, and create the most effective presentation to potential publishers, distributors, and other partners.
